34. Try Indian food without cutleries

I didn’t know what made me wanna add this to my list but I’m glad I did it.

Maybe because it reminded me of the good old days of being young and carefree. Not worrying about what society deems as “appropriate” or “taboo”. How it was seen as “cute” when kids pick up their food without using cutleries. How it was not weird to lick every finger on your hand because of the sauce. It was normal because you’re a kid. It was normal because it was cute. But now. It ain’t normal or cute. I’m an adult…Adulting sucks.

Or maybe because I was interested in the culture. How it was normal in India to eat your curry with your hands but “strange” in the Western culture. How it was thought to eat with your hands improve digestion and reduce the risk of diabetes, according to their beliefs.

It was a great experience! Fantastic even!

… but maybe it was a poor choice for a date idea. Especially if it was your first date ever! And remember when I said about licking your fingers because of sauce? Yeah. Awkward. Especially when there were other customers in the same restaurant, judging.

Feeding each other? Let’s just say, I never thought I would hear these exact words, “Would you like to lick my fingers?”. I know…

Thank you, Ed, for making the most uncomfortable date come true, for filling the date with laughter and judgy eyes. Thanks for being weird with me and letting me lick your fingers…

…To try his sauce, people!

Oh crap, that sounds bad…

Um…to try his curry? Ah, that’s bad too.

I’m done.
